We’re looking for an experienced Tech / Team Lead of Web team to spearhead the evolution of Planner5D’s core web platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to stay hands-on as a technical leader and guide a high-impact back-end team. You will work closely with the CTO and product managers, participating in cross-team feature development. Note that this position is under a B2B service agreement as a Contractor.

What You’ll Do

• Hands-on development: Architect and implement complex features using PHP/Symfony backend and TypeScript.
• Deliver well-engineered features that require minimal rework, emphasizing quality over quick fixes.
• Drive roadmap features: Lead projects focusing on measurable product impact.
• Lead the back-end team: Grow the team by setting high standards for technical quality, collaboration, and ownership. Mentor engineers, initiate technical workshops, manage hiring and onboarding.
• Collaborate actively with C-level executives, product managers, data teams, and designers to align on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.

Skills & Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience (PHP & JavaScript/TypeScript).
• 2+ years in a leadership role (Tech Lead or Team Lead).
• Backend skills: PHP 7.4/8.1, Symfony, SQL (SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL), Redis, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Docker, Git.
• Frontend skills: JavaScript (legacy code), TypeScript, jQuery, Three.js, WebGL, SVG rendering, Webpack, WebSocket, performance optimization.
• Experience with payment APIs (PayPal, Stripe, Apple/Google Pay), testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Jest), and knowledge of server infrastructure and web protocols.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of mathematics, geometry, and 2D/3D graphics (Canvas, WebGL, OpenGL).
