Role Purpose
  1. Promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English.
  2. Provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience.
  3. Support the wider aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.
  4. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language lessons tailored to the needs of different customer groups, considering individual learning styles.
  5. Monitor and assess student progress, provide regular feedback, and promote learner autonomy through homework and other activities.
  6. Engage in professional development and performance management to uphold high teaching standards and maintain the British Council's leadership in ELT practices.
  7. Ensure safeguarding and adherence to policies on child protection, health and safety, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in any discipline.
  • Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL.
  • Recognized Diploma in English as a Foreign Language (e.g., DELTA or Trinity Diploma).
  • Postgraduate Certificate in English or B.Ed in primary or secondary education (highly desirable).
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years post-certificate teaching experience (e.g., CELTA or Trinity TESOL).
  • Experience teaching relevant age groups, such as:
  • - Early Years (2-5 years, 400+ hours)
  • - Primary (6-10 years, 400+ hours)
  • - Lower Secondary (11-14 years, 800+ hours)
  • - Upper Secondary (15-17 years, 400+ hours)
  • - University/Vocational (18-25 years, 400+ hours)
  • - Adults (General English 18+, 800+ hours)
  • - Exam preparation.
Salary & Benefits

Annual gross salary ranges from Euro 22,979 to 33,179, pro-rata for part-time roles, depending on education, experience, and hours worked.

Additional Information
  • Contract type: Part-time (4-8 hours per week).
  • Nationality requirements: Applicants must be EU nationals or have the right to work in Spain.
  • Work schedule: Primarily weekday afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays, with potential travel to schools and partner institutions. Teachers may work across multiple centers and locations.
