A leading British school in Spain is seeking an EAL teacher to deliver high-quality teaching in line with the UK National Curriculum. The ideal candidate must have excellent working knowledge of the curriculum, fluency in English, and a dynamic teaching approach. Experience in Cambridge exam preparation is preferred. Formación

  • Dynamic and pro-active teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience.
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage.
  • Openness to teaching students in primary and secondary (all ages).

ROLE SUMMARY

King's College, The British School of Murcia, one of the most sought after British Schools in Spain, is looking to appoint an EAL teacher.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.
  • To plan, feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.
  • To plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.
  • To maintain records of pupils’ progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.
  • To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.
  • To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their child’s performance and progress in school.
  • To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning.
  • To monitor progress and the effectiveness of class work and to evaluate and modify planning and teaching as necessary.
  • To differentiate accordingly according to the students’ needs.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
  • A dynamic and pro-active teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience
  • Strong team player willing to support other colleagues
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and recent developments
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Openness to teaching students in primary and secondary (all ages)
  • Experience in Cambridge exam preparation B2-C1-C2 (ideally)
  • TEFL / CELTA courses or linguistic degrees
  • Experience teaching English as a foreign language in academies or schools.
