Job Description:

We are partnering with a technology company specializing in renewable energy storage solutions, headquartered in Barcelona, to find a Systems Integrations Engineer who will play a key role in their engineering team. Their mission is to make energy storage reliable and profitable, enabling a cleaner, more sustainable future. They are scaling their edge computing and Industrial IoT infrastructure to onboard and manage large-scale battery systems across Europe and beyond.

Role Overview: As a Systems Integrations Engineer, you will be responsible for how edge computing infrastructure connects and interacts with real-world systems, including utility-scale batteries and telemetry/control networks. You will work across architecture, protocols, data structures, and observability tools to ensure smooth onboarding and reliable operations of new sites. This is a cross-functional role blending software, systems, and field-level integration.

Responsibilities:
  1. Onboarding & Integration: Own the onboarding process of industrial energy storage systems. Interpret device protocols and vendor documentation to build integrations. Coordinate deployments across multiple sites with project managers.
  2. Systems Development: Develop and support IoT protocols (Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT). Maintain device abstraction layers and transform data. Build reusable tools for onboarding.
  3. Quality, Testing & Observability: Contribute to CI pipelines, testing frameworks, and system reliability. Enhance system observability using telemetry, metrics, and logs.
  4. Product Collaboration: Work with product and engineering teams to improve edge capabilities and standardize configurations for scalability.
Qualifications:
Hard Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related fields)
  • 3+ years in engineering or technical integration
  • 2+ years working with Linux systems (Ubuntu preferred)
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), YAML/JSON configs
Soft Skills:
  • Autonomous and self-driven
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent communication in English
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with industrial protocols like Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA
  • Familiarity with AWS IoT, Open Telemetry, Kafka, Grafana
  • Experience with SCADA systems, BESS, or energy/automation environments
  • Background in monitoring, telemetry, device onboarding
