Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe (Madrid) is seeking an Engineering Quality and Process Assurance Engineer to join the Military Air Systems Engineering Quality Team. You will lead end-to-end quality activities and deploy risk prevention tools across development programs.

The role requires 5–10 years in engineering, strong System Engineering background, and advanced English and Spanish. A hybrid work model and opportunities for continuous improvement are offered.

Formación

• Engineering degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Telecommunications.
• 5–10 years in engineering; system engineering or engineering management desirable.
• Strong communication, adaptability and customer orientation.
• Advanced English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute E2E Engineering Quality activities, including Process Assurance Plans and Quality Gates.
• Deploy quality methods and risk prevention tools across development programs (APQP, DFMEA, PPS, RCA, 5 Whys).
• Interface with key stakeholders: engineering, production, services and external bodies.
• Manage non-conformities and quality anomalies, drive corrective actions for right-first-time design deliverables.
• Support the Business Management System and audits, ensuring EN9100 compliance and process updates.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and share lessons learned across the org.

Job Description

An opportunity for an Engineering Quality and Process Assurance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Military Air Systems Engineering Quality Team.

The department is in charge of Quality and Process Assurance for programs developed by Military Air Systems Engineering within the perimeter of Transport and Mission Aircraft in Getafe. The team is multidisciplinary and acts as a key link between Engineering, other Quality functions, and external entities (such as National Quality Assurance Representatives and Customers), driving a proactive and preventive Quality culture across the full end-to-end (E2E) development cycle.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute E2E Engineering Quality activities, including Process Assurance Plans, Technical Reviews, Quality Gates, and Functional Configuration Audits (FCA).


• Deploy Quality methods and risk prevention tools across development programs (APQP, DFMEA, PPS, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and First Installation Checks).


• Interface with key internal and external stakeholders, such as Chief Engineering, Production, Services, external auditors, and Government National Quality Representatives.


• Manage non-conformities and quality anomalies, supporting root cause analysis, tracking KPIs, and driving corrective action initiatives to ensure right-first-time design deliverables.


• Support the Business Management System (BMS) and audits, ensuring compliance with EN9100, updating processes, and promoting a strong quality mindset.


• Drive continuous improvement projects, identifying weak points, managing risks, and fostering lessons-learned knowledge sharing across the organization.

Skills

Is your profile aligned to the following list of skills?

• Education: Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Industrial or Telecommunications). Master Degree will be a plus.


• Experience: Between 5 to 10 years of experience in Engineering ; background in System Engineering (e.g., System Architecture; SW Development; Testing Team) or Engineering Management would be desirable.


• Soft skills: High adaptability to work in networking mode, strong communication skills, continuous improvement mindset, and customer orientation.


• Languages: Advanced level in English and Spanish (both written & spoken).


• Technical knowledge: In-depth understanding of Systems Engineering, Quality Management Systems (e.g., EN9100), APQP, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis (PPS, 5Whys), and Process Assurance Review (PAR) methodologies.


• Valuable / Nice to have: Previous experience within Airbus or aeronautical design organization environments, specifically in military programs.
