A global digital solutions provider is seeking a System Engineer specializing in Juniper routing and switching within our Madrid office. Responsibilities include implementing and managing the Juniper MX480 platform, troubleshooting network issues, and collaborating with diverse teams. Required qualifications include expert knowledge in Juniper technologies, IPSec configuration, and strong analytical skills. Job Description

At the Telco Hub in Madrid, we pioneer the convergence of IT and telecommunication, building and scaling telco as a platform (TaaP) on our proprietary layered cloud. Our cross‑country, cross‑functional squads deliver cutting‑edge services to Europe’s most valued operator. The MID Squad (11 members) manages the mobile internet access, DDoS protection, converged mobile and fixed internet access, and the business customer IPSec gateway – critical components of our German network.

Activity Description and Concrete Tasks

• Implementation and operation of the physical Juniper MX480 system platform.
• Analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of system malfunctions.
• Identification, documentation, and structuring of new test use cases.
• Adoption of scripts and configuration parameters within the CI/CD chain.
• Roll‑out management throughout the entire application lifecycle.
• Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to enable end‑to‑end system functionality.
• Management of external suppliers and customer interaction during troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge in Juniper Router & Switching and Junos OS – certification in "Enterprise Routing and Switching Professional" (JNCIS‑ENT) preferred.
• Expert knowledge in IPSec configuration, troubleshooting and debugging – preferably on Junos OS.
• Expert knowledge in routing protocols (BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IPv6, QoS) and their troubleshooting – including analysis with Wireshark and Netscout.
• Basic programming skills in scripting and programming languages (BASH, Python, JINJA2, RESTful APIs).
• Experience operating business‑critical network applications according to ITILv3, preferably in a telecommunications environment.

Optional Skills

• Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness.
• Experience with classic and agile forms of cooperation.
• Automation and optimisation of operational tools and processes – especially with Ansible, CI/CD GitLab Pipelines, ELK, CheckMK and Grafana.

On‑call for approximately 15 weeks per year and rarely performing changes outside of regular working hours.
