T-Systems Iberia is seeking a System Engineer with strong DNS knowledge to join the DNS Squad in Madrid. You will deploy, monitor, and operate DNS platforms for mobile, fixed networks and IoT, collaborating with DevOps and supplier teams to ensure reliability.

The role emphasizes Kubernetes-based orchestration, network troubleshooting, and end-to-end platform improvement in a dynamic Telco environment. A cross-country, cross-functional team supports growth and innovation.

Formación

• Fundamental DNS knowledge (PowerDNS, DoH/DoT/DoQ) and telco experience.
• Extensive Kubernetes experience to orchestrate CNFs and manage K8s configurations.
• IP networking knowledge and ability to troubleshoot with tools like Wireshark.
• Experience with monitoring and data analytics (Prometheus, Medusa).

Responsabilidades

• Implement and operate physical, virtualized and containerized systems; focus on integrating a new IoT resolving platform in Kubernetes.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and document system malfunctions; refine automated processes for high availability.
• Develop and document new test cases; create scripts (Ansible, Bash, Python, Perl).

The DNS Squad (consisting of 12 team members) holds the end-to-end responsibility for the resolving and authoritative DNS systems for Deutsche Telekom AG. These platforms are part of the critical infrastructure and are central core components of our german network.We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team for the resolving DNS platforms. These plattforms are resolving DNS Requests for mobile & fixed networks but also for IoT.The Team is responsible for the entire lifecycle and further development.You will be working closely with our supplier and devops engineers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot our resolving DNS plattforms.

Activity Description

• Implementation and operation of physical, virtualized and containerized system environments- focus on integrating a new IoT resolving Plattform in Kubernetes
• Analysis, troubleshooting and documentation of system malfunctions- Regular checks and refinement of automated processes and strategies such as failover, deployment and desaster recovery to ensure a highly available and resilient system with minimum recovery time
• Identification, documentation and structuring of new test use cases- Development and optimization of scripts (Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python)
• Implementing changes in test, reference and productive systems to enhance system stability and/or provide new features
• Development of new methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system functionality
• Collaborate closely with the german operations team to streamline processes, enhance software, tools and system performance and apply innovative technologies and concepts

Must-have requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of DNS (PowerDNS, DoH/DoT/DoQ) --> preferably you have worked in a TelCo company
• Extensive know-how in working with Kubernetes to orchestrate CNFs
• Proficiency in using as well as adapting configurations for K8s is a must
• Experience with IP networks, router and LAN/WAN technologies as well as troubleshooting them with tracing tools (e.g. wireshark)
• Hands-on experience of monitoring systems and data analytics (Prometheus, Medusa, …)

Nice-to-have requirements

• Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness
• Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation

Considerations

Being oncall for round about 8 Weeks per year and rarely perform tasks outside of regular working hours
