System Development Engineer, WW AMZL Innovation and Design Engineering

Amazon is seeking an experienced, innovative, and customer-focused Software Development Engineer to lead the development of robotic products for our Delivery Stations. The successful candidate will join the Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team, responsible for strategizing, defining, and managing software development for robotics technologies in AMZL Delivery Stations.

This role requires individuals with robotics, engineering, planning, and analytical skills. You will influence the automation roadmap by collaborating with Robotics, Software Tech Teams, Process Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and Engineering teams to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve software for complex mechatronics products.
• Define and develop software architecture for new automation concepts.
• Integrate new technologies from vendors into AMZL Software Architecture.
• Test and commission software on machines in Innovation Centers and operational sites.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience programming in languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Experience in systems design, software development, operations, and automation.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals and networking.
• Experience with CODESYS and additional modern programming languages.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Java.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
