We are hiring a Sustainability Manager who has experience in interacting with different cultural environments and can work in a challenging high-growth atmosphere.

What you will do:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a sustainability strategy that aligns with Volotea’s long-term goals, ensuring environmental sustainability is integrated into the company’s business strategy and regulatory compliance.

Program Management: Oversee the execution of sustainability programs (carbon reduction, SAF, energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable procurement), and monitor progress to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments (operations, finance, marketing, HR) to promote sustainability and engage with external stakeholders (governments, NGOs, customers) to advance sustainability goals.

Performance Metrics and Reporting: Set KPIs to assess sustainability program effectiveness and prepare regular reports for the Executive Committee and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, manage risks related to sustainability, and lead certification or verification processes (e.g., Bureau Veritas Audit, SBTi, IEnvA).

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• A proven experience in sustainability or environmental management, preferably within the aviation or transportation industry.
• Experience reporting and communicating on sustainability topics.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies and programs.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive environmental change.
• Fluent English & Spanish. French or Italian will be a plus.
