We are the Global Center of Competence (GCoC) for Power Conversion within the Global Product Group (GPG) Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) in the Business Unit Grid Integration, Hitachi Energy. Our production site is located in Turgi, Switzerland, and we have a leading position in the development, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and service of high-power electronic converters mainly for STATCOM and rail power supply converters, as well as static frequency converters for industrial applications. In our Supply Chain Management (SCM) function, we work as one team, fully integrated within the value chain. To support our strategy, competitiveness, and growth, we are extending our team and are looking for a Supply Quality Engineer. How you will make an impact :

  • Technological and methodical development of suppliers for electric and mechanical components and assemblies regarding process and product quality.
  • Support new supplier onboarding by ensuring robust qualification process execution at both company and product levels.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to identify product Critical To Quality (CTQ) parameters and assess manufacturing process capabilities of suppliers, including planning, execution, and follow-up.
  • Conduct process audits at main suppliers and lead supplier quality reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Own supplier performance metrics, analyze results, and identify improvement areas using supplier scorecards.
  • Manage supplier nonconformities, including containment actions, corrective actions, and root cause analysis; periodically review historical nonconformities to develop improvement plans; support supplier claim management processes.
  • Travel to suppliers as needed to resolve quality issues, develop quality processes, and inspect components and products.

Your background :

  • Preferred technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; education in Quality Management is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Supplier Quality; Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience with product qualification processes (e.g., PPAP), quality audits (certified auditor preferred), and quality tools and systems, including DFMEA and PFMEA.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing process assessment.
  • Fluent in English, capable of leading technical calls, reading drawings and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional and global team collaboration.
