IT Support Technician - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to join our GFIT team in Spain to drive the seamless operation of IT systems within Sulzer by ensuring compliance with governance, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Also, leverage cutting-edge tools and methods to keep our business processes running smoothly and efficiently.

Your main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Rapid Issue Resolution : Ensure IT services and systems are quickly restored to operational status following defined resolution and documentation processes.
  • Application Support : Provide support for business applications within designated locations.
  • System Maintenance : Maintain servers, storage, Active Directory, SQL services, and manage file systems and permissions.
  • Security & Patch Management : Oversee security measures, scripting, patch management, and backup responsibilities.
  • Documentation : Maintain documentation related to system configurations and changes.
  • Environmental & Risk Management : Be familiar with environmental impacts, risks, and mitigation measures related to the role, and actively support company initiatives.

To succeed in this role you will need :

  • Attention to Detail : Meticulous in ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Customer Service Skills : Strong ability to support and communicate effectively with users.
  • Adaptability : Flexible and able to adjust to changing environments and requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills : Excellent at building and maintaining relationships within the team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Proficient in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Technical Expertise : Educated to school diploma standard with 2-3 years of relevant IT support experience; ITIL Foundation or above is desirable. Strong understanding of networking, computer hardware, IT architecture, and corporate enterprise environments.
