Finance Business Partner R&D and Finance Projects - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner R&D and Finance Projects to join our CT Technology & Innovation team in Spain. You will support the division FP&A manager, division Controller, and division head of R&D with financial analysis.

Your main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Supporting the division FP&A manager, division Controller, and partnering with the division head of R&D by delivering comprehensive and timely financial information for business management and decision-making.
  • Planning and managing R&D CAPEX, ensuring effective resource allocation and utilization of capital assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Monitoring and controlling Cost Centers and actual CAPEX spending.
  • Collaborating with R&D department stakeholders to define costing outcomes, develop cost frameworks, and ensure accurate cost control with a focus on optimizing R&D operations.
  • Leading cross-divisional finance projects, showcasing project management and finance skills (e.g., NWC review, finance tool improvements, operational excellence).
  • Performing month-end closing activities, including variance and root cause analysis (actual, budget, forecast).
  • Providing rolling forecasts to reflect changing business and economic conditions.
  • Performing plan analytics to identify risks and opportunities, developing risk management strategies, and providing actionable insights to mitigate financial risks.
  • Contributing to the bi-monthly preparation of the business review presentation.
  • Handling various ad-hoc reporting requests to equip R&D stakeholders with financial understanding.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes for the R&D department.
  • Identifying and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives for the controlling function.
  • Driving automation of reports (QlikSense, QlikView, SharePoint) and finance process optimization.

To succeed in this role you will need :

  • A degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting, Finance, or Controlling.
  • Min. 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis or controlling, including exposure to R&D controlling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP (FI / CO modules) and business application tools.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior leadership and other key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong analytical skills with high energy to drive results.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities, tasks, and processes.
  • A positive, flexible, and adaptive approach with a team player attitude.
  • Fluency in English; German is beneficial.
