Zelestra seeks a Senior SCADA & PPC Engineer to develop and maintain plant SCADA and PPC control logic across multi-technology assets, ensuring grid code compliance and reliable operation.

The role requires 5+ years in SCADA, PPC development, and BESS integration, plus fluent English (C1). We offer a permanent contract, hybrid work model, and opportunities for international travel and professional growth.

Formación

• Master in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in SCADA development and PLC/RTU projects.
• Knowledge of grid codes and PPC standards.
• Fluent English (C1) and strong technical writing skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain plant SCADA and substation SCADA systems.
• Define SCADA architectures for central and substation levels.
• Configure and test PPC control algorithms (active/reactive power, voltage, frequency).
• Integrate PPC with SCADA and protection equipment; ensure grid code compliance.

Mission

Development and maintenance of SCADA and control systems for the multitechnology projects developed by the company, including substation SCADA and Power Plant Controller (PPC) control logic, ensuring reliable monitoring, control, and grid code compliance across substations and plants.

Responsibilities

• Plant SCADA development and maintenance using Ignition platform.
• Substation SCADA development and maintenance using dedicated substation SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., SICAM, WinCC, or similar).
• Definition of SCADA systems: central plant and substation SCADA, dataloggers, PLCs, RTUs.
• Monitoring of SCADA projects developed by third parties.
• Definition of communication protocols: Modbus, DNP3, IEC-104, IEC-61850, OPC.
• On-site implementation of SCADA systems.
• SCADA projects documentation development.
• Development and implementation of Power Plant Controller (PPC) control algorithms and logic (active/reactive power control, voltage regulation, frequency response).
• Definition and configuration of grid code compliance requirements (voltage/frequency ride-through, power factor control, ramp rates) for PPC control.
• Integration of PPC control systems with SCADA and substation protection/control equipment.
• Testing and validation of PPC control logic, both in simulation/factory environment and on-site commissioning.
• Development and integration of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) control and monitoring functions within SCADA and control systems.
• Configuration and coordination of Hybrid Power Plant Controller (HPPC) / Master PPC logic across multiple generation and storage assets (e.g., solar, wind, BESS).

DESIRED EDUCATION

• Master in Telecommunications Engineering / Degree in Telecommunications Technology Engineering or equivalent.

COMPLEMENTARY EDUCATION

• Knowledge of grid codes and power plant control (PPC) standards. Knowledge of BESS integration and hybrid power plant control (HPPC/Master PPC) standards

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• English level: C1
• Expert level of:
  • Programming
  • Scripting

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in projects with industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101/104, IEC 61850…)
• At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing SCADA systems.
• At least 5 years of experience in databases, programming and scripting.
• At least 5 years of experience in power plant control (PPC) development, configuration, or grid code compliance.
• At least 5 years of experience in BESS integration and/or HPPC/Master PPC control for hybrid power plants.

WORKING CONDITIONS
