Role Purpose (Summary of position)
The SubChapter Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of high quality software from our chapter. This role will work closely with the other Data Platform teams, Core teams, SRE, and GCS teams to influence and enhance our ways of working and our automation for build and deployment. The person will attract and develop talent within the organization.

You will be responsible :

  • Lead and manage a sub chapter of Software, DevOps, and Quality Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster their professional growth and development

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and drive the overall strategy and roadmap of the platform services provided by the sub chapter.

  • Design, develop, test, build, and deploy software using technologies like Java, Relational and NoSQL databases.

  • Champion the use interoperability practices and standards including healthcare specific ones such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM to promote seamless data sharing between Roche products

  • Manage Agile Software Delivery and Operations, including people management.

  • Communicate complex technical problems to non-technical audiences and translate customer requirements to technical designs.

  • Navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners.

  • Manage remote teams to deliver software releases.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

  • Hire, Onboard and develop talent within the organization to meet the business needs

Your profile;

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Professional experience/duration: At least 10 years of professional progressive experience in software development and delivery, with a focus on leading and managing software engineering teams

  • Specialist knowledge:

    • Healthcare Domain(Lab, Payor, Provider) experience is Strongly preferred

    • Experience in managing the software processes associated with Software as a Medical Device is preferred

    • Solid understanding of Agile principles and practices, with experience in Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

    • Experience leading, recruiting, building, mentoring, and fostering project managers and\or engineers

    • Excellent communication skills, specifically, clearly conveying complex technical information in written reports and presentations

    • Experience with tools and frameworks for continuous integration and continuous deployment is a plus

Locations

You will be based in Sant Cugat/ Barcelona. At the Company's discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.

As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.
