Our client, a leading infrastructure engineering firm, seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on design, analysis, and supervision of infrastructure projects, with site visits to monitor progress and provide on-site support.

You will ensure safety, durability, and efficiency of critical public infrastructure, applying structural principles and construction methods for large-scale transportation projects.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in structural design and analysis of bridges and highways.

Responsabilidades

• Perform structural analysis and design for bridges, overpasses, culverts, and other highway structures.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and construction specifications.
• Conduct structural assessments and condition surveys of existing bridges and infrastructure.
• Oversee the construction phase of projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, government agencies, and other consultants.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and construction methodologies.
• Develop innovative design solutions for complex structural challenges.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.

About the Role

Our client, a leading infrastructure engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their dedicated team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This pivotal role focuses on the design, analysis, and supervision of construction for bridges, highways, and other transportation‑related structures. You will be integral in ensuring the safety, durability, and efficiency of critical public infrastructure. This is an office‑based role with regular site visits required to monitor construction progress and provide on‑site engineering support. We are looking for a highly competent professional with a deep understanding of structural principles, materials, and construction methods applicable to large‑scale transportation projects. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering robust and resilient infrastructure that meets the highest standards of engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in the structural design and analysis of bridges and highway structures.
• Proven experience with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, CSiBridge, STAAD.Pro) and CAD software.
• In‑depth knowledge of bridge design codes (e.g., AASHTO, EN, SANRAL specifications) and concrete, steel, and composite materials.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and site supervision for infrastructure projects.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required within the Eastern Cape region.
