Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a Software Engineer in Getafe (Madrid) to join the Software Mission Systems Team. You will contribute to R&D and core product initiatives, delivering high-performance software for mission systems in a cross-functional, international environment.

The role emphasizes C++ on Linux, DDS-based communication, and Qt GUI development, with a focus on end-to-end delivery and high-quality software through TDD and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 5 years in software development, especially in high-performance applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work in international environments.
• Advanced level in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain clean C++ code for Linux platforms.
• Implement data-centric interfaces and DDS-based communication systems.
• Develop, optimize and maintain GUI using the Qt framework.
• Own end-to-end delivery of customer-facing features with trunk-based development.
• Ensure high software quality with Test Driven Development (TDD) incl. unit/integration tests.
• Create technical documentation including architectures, API contracts, and DDS data models.
