Strategic Marketing Director (market insights / BI)

International scope | Food & Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)

Our client, a leading company in the food and FMCG sector, is seeking a Strategic Marketing Director (M / F) with a solid background in fast-moving consumer goods and a passion for market intelligence, strategic branding, and customer-focused innovation.

We are looking for a professional who can translate data into strategic decisions, strengthen brand positioning, and lead innovation across different business units and markets.

Main Objectives of the Role :

  • Lead market research (trends, products, customers, competitors) and identify business opportunities.
  • Implement a Business Intelligence approach to support the Business Unit’s strategic planning and operations.
  • Execute the company’s commercial strategy by promoting customer centricity and new product development aligned with brand values.
  • Review and update the product launch process and lead successful market entries.
  • Define and drive the company’s communication strategy in coordination with the corporate communication team.
  • Lead and implement the brand strategy globally.
  • Support the preparation of country-level commercial plans together with sales teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Market Insights & Business Intelligence - Develop and lead a robust market research framework to analyze trends, customer behavior, and competition. Establish a reporting and analysis system to support strategic decision-making and opportunity identification.
  • Information Management - Structure and manage market information for value creation and product development. Deliver clear, actionable reporting to support business planning and cross-functional decision-making.
  • New Product Development - Lead the NPD process and coordinate cross-functional teams for new product launches. Define milestones, KPIs, testing protocols, and launch deliverables. Ensure alignment with market expectations and internal business goals.
  • Corporate Communication - Define and lead the external and internal communication strategy. Promote the company’s vision, values, and market positioning in coordination with the corporate team.
  • Commercial Support - Collaborate with sales teams to support strategic planning at the country level, aligned with corporate goals.
  • Strategic Brand Management - Drive brand development and ensure consistency across business units. Guide local marketing efforts to align with the overall brand strategy and positioning.

Candidate Profile :

  • University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, or similar. Postgraduate studies in Strategic Marketing or related disciplines preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic marketing roles within FMCG, with a strong background in :
  • Digital and omnichannel strategy
  • E-commerce and content marketing
  • P&L responsibility and investment optimization
  • Reporting to senior executive / C-level stakeholders
  • Expert-level knowledge of Market Insights and Business Intelligence.
  • Strong experience in Strategic Brand Development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Used to working with high-performance teams and senior management.
  • Strategic mindset, analytical thinking, and creativity.
  • Strong business acumen and passion for value creation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and AI productivity tools.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English ; French or other languages are a plus.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously.
