Overview

We are supporting a leading international manufacturing business in their search for a Strategic Buyer to join their procurement team, with responsibility for Electrical & Electronic and Mechanical categories based in Madrid.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing sourcing strategies, driving cost optimisation, and building strong supplier partnerships within a fast-paced international manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal demand and align with the wider procurement leadership team
• Lead the end-to-end procurement process: supplier research (RfI), quotations (RfP / RfQ), negotiations, contracting, and supplier performance evaluation
• Implement category strategies at local level while supporting global alignment for the electronics category
• Coordinate and support cross-functional teams in developing new strategies and cost-saving opportunities
• Build market knowledge and introduce innovations to deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, service, and sustainability
• Drive projects to achieve commercial and operational targets
• Serve as the procurement contact for direct material and project demands, ensuring delivery, quality, and supplier performance are maintained

What We\'re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years\' experience in purchasing / procurement (ideally in industrial / manufacturing environments)
• Technical background - Used to working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Fluency in English and Spanish (German is an advantage)
• Experience working with SAP MM or similar ERP systems
• Team-oriented mindset, with ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage internal stakeholders effectively
