The Centre for Genomic Regulation seeks a Stem Cell and Differentiation Specialist for its Tissue Engineering Unit. The Institute
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
The desired candidate will be involved, in collaboration with the rest of the Tissue Engineering Unit, in differentiating disease specific human pluripotent stem cells (hiPSc) towards cardiomyocytes, sensory neurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, brain organoids and their treatment with specific factors / drugs as part of an international consortia. The candidate, in collaboration with international labs will be involved in following subsequent analysis led by other members of the consortia.
Applicant should be highly motivated with through, resolutive, methodological with accurate work habits and a good team member. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to multi-task and has a service-oriented mentality.
The working schedule shall be flexible and adapted to the requirements of the particular service, while respecting the legal daily and weekly rest periods.
The Unit
The Tissue Engineering Unit is a scientific-technological Core Technology within the Core Technologies Program. The goal of the Tissue Engineering Unit is to provide CRG, PRBB and external researchers with the latest technologies used in the fields of stem cell biology, stem cell differentiation, organoid formation, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and CRISPR / Cas9 gene editing. It was created 9 years ago with the aim of helping the research community in performing Stem Cell and Organoids projects to increase the impact of Stem Cell and Organoid projects and applications. The Unit is constantly setting up new technologies that are emerging in the above fields.
Whom would we like to hire?
Professional experience
Must Have
You have a t least 3 years' experience in stem cell biology and ES / iPS cell differentiation systems
You have experience in working in a Core Facility or Industry / Biotech / R&D Facility
If you have experience in troubleshooting cell differentiation processes and assays you will be considered
If you have e xperience in delivering projects to agreed schedules, budgets and quality standards you will be considered
Education and training
You hold a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field
If you hold a Master / PhD Degree it will be considered as a plus
Languages
You are fluent in English
You are proficient in Spanish
Technical skills required
You have a strong Tissue Culture experience for human and mouse ES / iPS cells and PDOs
You have a strong experience in ES cell differentiation
You have experience with immunofluorescence, confocal and FACS analysis for cellular characterizations
Competences

The Offer – Working Conditions
Contract d uration : Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project duration (estimated June 2026). Part-time , 20h a week.
