Job summary

Siemens Spain is seeking a Staff Software Quality Engineer to lead testing across multiple services and data sources, ensuring automated, scalable quality gates in CI/CD. You will guide testing strategy, develop automation frameworks, and mentor engineers to embed quality in every increment.

The role emphasizes API/contract/integration and end-to-end testing in a distributed, event-driven environment, with a focus on performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years in quality engineering or test automation for complex distributed platforms, including technical lead for testing.
• Design maintainable API, contract, integration, end-to-end, UI, and regression automation integrated with CI/CD.
• Testing of distributed systems and event-driven workflows, including retries, idempotency, and recovery.
• Data and non-functional testing: data transformations, performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript, Java; proficient with SQL and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical test strategy and risk-based coverage across API, contract, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, and resilience testing.
• Own release acceptance from a quality perspective, covering functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design, build, and evolve the test automation framework and CI/CD integration as fast, reliable quality gates.
• Write and review automated tests hands-on, setting coding standards for testing contributions.
• Mentor engineers and promote quality as a shared team responsibility.
• Manage test environments and data to ensure scalable automation.
