Descripción del empleo

Openchip is building new RISC-V chips with security at heart, enabling safer and more privacy-respectful execution of data processing workloads like AI models.

Key responsibilities :

• Understand the technical landscape of their project and make decisions about it.
• Make independent technical contributions, especially for the most foundational or challenging parts of the project.
• Develop and maintain security features for hardware architectures (RISC-V and others).
• Implement security features such as secure boot, confidential computing, cryptography, etc.
• Define and modify interfaces to expose security features to applications, leveraging standards when possible.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across firmware, OS, middleware, and hardware to integrate security features.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Review design documents and code for correctness and quality.
• Identify opportunities for process and code improvements.
• Engage with directors and program managers for risk assessment and process enhancements.
• Communicate technical topics effectively across the organization.

Required qualifications :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Over 10 years of experience in the relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture.
• Experience with at least three of the following : confidential computing, platform security, cryptography, boot integrity, cryptography libraries.
• Understanding of pre-boot and Linux kernel internals.
• Proficiency in low-level languages (C, Rust).
• Experience with source control, CI, and task management tools.

Preferred qualifications :

• Assembly language experience.
• Experience with hypervisors and system boot technologies.
• Open source software development experience and contributions.
• Knowledge of firmware lifecycle management.
• Experience with hardware cryptography IPs.
