Staff Security Engineer (m / f / d) - Remote

We’re on a mission to bring good, cloud-native engineering practices to security at SoSafe. We are looking for a generalist Staff Engineer to design and build a Security Operations stack using AWS native and open source components. We believe that production security data should be useful to product developers as part of a strong DevOps culture, enabling responsible teams to own the security of their services.

This role combines technical leadership, architecture and design, technical delivery, mentoring, and enabling other teams. You will work closely with stakeholders from Security, Platform, Infrastructure, and IT teams.

Responsibilities :

1. Lead architecture, design, and delivery of a highly automated, cloud-native, developer-friendly Security Operations stack including log aggregation, correlation, analysis, and alerting.
2. Contribute to excellent cross-organization incident response processes, including training and exercises.
3. Collaborate on architectural patterns and best practices for securing multi-tenant SaaS applications.
4. Integrate endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, and AWS-native security services (e.g., AWS GuardDuty, AWS Security Hub) into infrastructure, making them valuable for diverse teams.
5. Participate in our shared Security-team triage rotation during working hours.

Requirements :

1. Significant experience in DevOps teams supporting SaaS products, such as platform, infrastructure, SRE, or data engineering.
2. Deep knowledge of AWS services and tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog, GitHub/GitOps.
3. Strong incident response experience.
4. Holistic thinking about user needs, technology, and process to deliver high-value outcomes.
5. Proficiency in modern development languages such as Python or Go; experience with TypeScript is a plus.

Nice to haves :

1. Experience working with a security team (desirable but not required).
2. Experience developing and enabling cross-organizational processes, especially incident response.
