Syngenta Crop Protection seeks a Staff Engineer, DevOps Platform to lead the shared CI/CD, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code platform enabling engineering teams to deliver with confidence. Work at the intersection of advanced technology and agricultural R&D, partnering with engineers, product leaders and scientific stakeholders.

Formación

• Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Proven track record designing and operating GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in Go, Python or Shell for automation.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering and disciplined reviews.
• Strong platform thinking and cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and native services.
• Ability to design monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance in DevOps.
• Experience in enterprise-scale system architecture and scalability.

Responsabilidades

• Lead Kubernetes and container orchestration initiatives to durable, scalable outcomes.
• Design and evolve the GitLab CI/CD platform for large engineering teams.

We are looking for a Staff Engineer, DevOps Platform to lead the shared CI/CD, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code platform that enables engineering teams to deliver with confidence. • Lead and apply deep expertise in shared platform and product thinking to deliver durable, scalable outcomes.
• Collaborate across engineering, product and scientific teams to translate complex needs into practical solutions.
• Set a high bar for quality, documentation and thoughtful use of AI-assisted engineering.
• Design and implement platform architecture decisions that balance scalability, reliability and developer experience across the organization.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive monitoring, observability and incident response protocols to ensure platform stability and performance.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers on the platform team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Drive security and compliance initiatives within the platform, ensuring infrastructure meets organizational and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Demonstrable experience in GitLab CI/CD platform design.
• Demonstrable experience in Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Demonstrable experience in Go, Python or Shell automation.
• Demonstrable experience in AI-assisted engineering with rigorous review.
• Demonstrable experience in shared platform / product thinking.
• Demonstrable experience in operational standards design.
• Demonstrable experience in technical leadership without line authority.
• Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their native services.
• Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Demonstrable experience in security best practices and compliance frameworks within DevOps environments.
• Demonstrable experience in system architecture design and scalability planning for enterprise-level platforms.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

• Experience in agriculture, life sciences, scientific computing or a regulated enterprise environment.
• Experience building platforms, products or services used by multiple internal teams.
• Experience working in distributed, international engineering organisations.
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) and advanced networking concepts.
