Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Data Analyst based in Spain.

As a Staff Data Analyst, you will take ownership of analytics across a global travel marketplace, shaping how product, engineering, and commercial teams use data to drive strategic decisions. You will be the first dedicated analytics owner for this business area, building reliable data foundations and transforming complex customer, booking, and API usage data into actionable insights. Working directly with senior stakeholders, you will influence product priorities, identify growth opportunities, and establish trusted metrics across the business. You will combine strategic thinking with hands‑on analytics engineering, developing data models, pipelines, and analytical products from concept to implementation. You will also help introduce product analytics and experimentation capabilities to better understand customer behavior and improve adoption and conversion. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast‑moving, international environment where autonomy, technical excellence, and business outcomes matter.

Accountabilities
  • Own analytics across the customer-facing business, covering enterprise partners, self-service customers, API adoption, booking performance, and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner closely with senior Product, Engineering, and commercial leaders to define analytical priorities, challenge assumptions, and translate business questions into data-driven decisions.
  • Build, validate, and maintain reliable dbt models, data pipelines, and analytical products that consolidate fragmented data sources into consistent, trusted reporting.
  • Establish standardized metrics and reporting frameworks to resolve discrepancies between dashboards and provide a reliable view of product and business performance.
  • Analyze customer journeys, API usage, and booking behavior to identify friction points, uncover conversion opportunities, and improve customer activation and retention.
  • Develop product analytics capabilities and introduce experimentation frameworks, including hypothesis development, experiment design, and performance measurement.
  • Investigate complex marketplace data across multiple products, systems, and fragmented hotel supply networks to uncover trends, operational challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • Take analytical initiatives from initial discovery and solution design through implementation, validation, and adoption, ensuring that data products deliver measurable business value.
  • Use AI coding agents and automation tools to accelerate development and analysis while maintaining data quality, reliability, and technical standards.
  • Operate independently in an evolving environment, prioritizing high-impact opportunities, defining solutions with limited specifications, and delivering results with minimal oversight.
  • Help shape analytics practices, data standards, and ways of working as the wider data organization continues to develop.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or a closely related discipline, with a track record of independently owning complex analytical initiatives.
  • Proven experience working closely with senior Product, Engineering, or business leaders, influencing decisions through clear insights and a strong understanding of commercial priorities.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in analytics engineering, including designing, developing, and validating dbt models, data pipelines, and end-to-end analytical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform fragmented or complex datasets into reliable, well‑structured data products that stakeholders can confidently use.
  • Strong understanding of product analytics, customer behavior, conversion funnels, API adoption, and the relationship between product performance and business outcomes.
  • Experience working in startups or scaleups, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver meaningful results in environments with limited structure.
  • Practical experience using AI coding agents or AI‑powered development tools to improve productivity, automate workflows, and accelerate implementation without compromising quality.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex questions, identify root causes, and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions constructively and explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • A high degree of autonomy, ownership, and accountability, combined with the ability to connect individual analytical projects to broader business and product objectives.
Nice to have:
  • Experience with product analytics and experimentation, including designing experiments and evaluating their impact on customer adoption, conversion, and growth.
  • Background in marketplace businesses, platform companies, travel technology, or other complex, multi‑sided digital ecosystems.
  • Experience consolidating data across multiple products, systems, and customer segments to establish consistent performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with AI‑driven product development and modern data workflows.
Benefits
  • Remote and hybrid flexibility: Work remotely within the EU or choose a hybrid arrangement in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Dublin, or London.
  • High ownership and autonomy: Take responsibility for a major analytics function and directly influence strategic product and business decisions.
  • Meaningful business impact: Build foundational analytics capabilities and see your work inform real decisions, product improvements, and commercial growth.
  • Fast-paced working environment: Benefit from streamlined processes, limited bureaucracy, and the ability to move quickly from ideas to implementation.
  • International collaboration: Work with distributed teams and senior stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.
  • Professional growth: Help establish analytics practices and contribute to the evolution of a growing data organization.
  • AI-driven innovation: Use modern AI tools and technologies to accelerate analytical development and improve operational efficiency.
  • Major market opportunity: Contribute to technology that addresses complex challenges across the global travel and B2B hotel ecosystem.
