Stripe seeks a Staff Software Engineer on the UI Platform (Sail) to shape the technical direction of the backend services powering Stripe’s dashboards and interfaces.

You will blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership, delivering scalable platform capabilities and mentoring teams across engineering, product, and design.

Remote in Spain, you’ll work with cross‑functional partners to build a reliable, delightful user experience and drive architectural decisions at scale.

Formación

• 10+ years of experience building complex, reliable, scalable APIs or distributed systems.
• Leadership of technical design and delivery across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience setting technical direction and executable roadmap.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions with engineering, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Define a cross-team technical strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for the backend services powering Stripe’s merchant-facing experiences.
• Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend services that provide a consistent foundation for product teams across dashboards and other interfaces.
• Build reusable platform capabilities to help product teams develop and operate their products with confidence.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to connect the design system, SDKs, APIs, and backend services.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to raise team quality.
