Stripe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the UI Platform team (Sail) to shape technical direction of services supporting Stripe’s user interfaces. You will blend hands-on engineering with leadership, collaborating with backend engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

You will define cross-team strategy, influence architecture, and mentor engineers to raise quality and impact while aligning with Stripe’s dashboard and UI infrastructure goals.

Formación

• Minimum 10+ years of experience building complex, reliable APIs or distributed systems.
• Track record leading the technical design and delivery of large projects across multiple teams.
• Experience setting technical direction and translating strategy into an executable roadmap.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs with engineering, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Define a cross-team technical strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap for backend services powering Stripe’s merchant-facing experiences.
• Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend services to provide a reliable foundation for dashboards and other interfaces.
• Build reusable platform capabilities to help product teams develop and operate their products with confidence.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to connect the design system, SDKs, APIs, and backend services.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, guidance, and mentorship.
