Amazon in Madrid, Spain seeks a Sr. Technical Vehicle Program Manager to optimize the technical attributes of the last-mile vehicle fleet and own critical work-streams for performance and evaluation. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions to protect customers, fleet, and operations.

The candidate will coordinate across teams, apply analytical methods, and drive complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment, focusing on delivering high-impact results for Amazon Logistics fleet.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent.
  • Experience in technical product or program management.
  • Experience in cross-functional project or program delivery.
  • Experience in technical roles in the commercial mobility (vans, trucks, buses) or automotive industry.

  • Owns the optimization of technical attributes of our expanding vehicle fleet and innovates on behalf our customers.
  • Is capable of taking accountability and driving planning, resolution and execution in complex technical projects.
  • Works independently, has a strong drive to identify improvement potential and manages projects from idea to implementation.
  • Is comfortable challenging internal stakeholders on existing practices and external partners in their limitations and capabilities.
  • Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals.
  • Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions.
  • Strong Project management capabilities; An ability to assess risks, make decisions, manage execution and report accordingly.

The Senior Technical Program Manager will be responsible for optimizing the technical attributes of our last-mile vehicle fleet. You will own critical work-streams that focus on keeping our EU fleet at the highest possible standard. You will strive to always be data driven while making judgements from the field to ensure the corrects actions are made to protect the customer, the fleet and operations. The strive to be data driven means that x-functional relationships are key for success. To be successful in this role, you possess strong technical capabilities with an equally strong ability to analyze, solve and communicate complex problems. A successful candidate will be analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented. The candidate will have a proven track record in navigating complex technical problem settings, being hands on in finding fact-based solutions, in a technical capacity in the automotive industry – preferably with commercial vehicles, and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

The Last Mile team within Amazon Logistics is looking for Senior Technical Program Manager to drive Amazon Logistics technical fleet capabilities. Key job responsibilities

A day in the life of a VPLE team member is never the same. The day is split evenly between reactive escalations about field issues, project work to progress field resolutions, weekly cadence and team/development activities. Prioritization is critical in this team, and the stack-ranking of workload is ever-changing due to our reactive nature. It's fast paced, fun, interesting and challenging, the result of which makes for a very rewarding workload.

About the team The team is small, agile and technically astute. We make decisions on behalf of a 30K strong fleet, and position ourselves as the technical voice of AMZL. As we push towards a standardized methodology, we search out gaps in our processes to ensure we are ever-improving and seek excellence.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in technical product or program management
  • Experience with cross functional project or program delivery
  • Experience in technical roles in the commercial mobility (vans, trucks buses) or the automotive industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
  • Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership, or experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, or experience communicating results to senior leadership
