Open Position: Sr. Software Engineer (Remote, Spain)

POSITION SUMMARY

Anju is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java programming, overall software knowledge, and MySQL Server database skills. Responsibilities include planning and implementing solutions in Java, configuring and executing scripts, developing scripts for database updates, data transformation, import/export, and fixing data anomalies. The role also involves automating integration and deployment tasks, assisting with change requests, and deployments. The candidate will develop Java code, scripts using Ansible and Bash, MySQL programming, and other tools, collaborating closely with the data team to build and optimize data pipelines for efficient data flow and system integration.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Architect and implement efficient, high-volume, low-latency data processing pipelines for mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and provide technical insights.
• Optimize and maintain data processing jobs to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Develop robust production cycles, ensuring end-to-end functionality and high availability.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and security through best practices and innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide timely resolutions.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

• 5+ years of experience in software development with expertise in Java.
• Professional experience as a Software Engineer or a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with software development experience.
• Proficiency in MySQL, including writing optimized queries and managing database interactions.
• Experience with Java, MySQL, Jenkins, Docker, Bash scripting, Ansible, Python.
• Expertise in Java (8/12/17/21) with a strong understanding of object-oriented design.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and technical writing skills.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Experience in biotech, pharma, or healthcare is a plus.
