Description

The Align Predictability Optimization Team is seeking a Sr. C++ Software Engineer to develop a 3D CAD / CAM system for orthodontic treatment, utilizing ML, Neural Networks, and Knitro engine. The team focuses on creating software and algorithms for new orthodontic products, working on computational geometry, system architecture, and integration with other applications, in collaboration with biomechanical engineering and clinical experts in the US.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment and monitoring.
• Develop and improve numerical 3D geometrical algorithms in C++, incorporating ML and Neural Networks.
• Implement new product features, integrate with other applications, and develop new business logic.
• Refactor and re-architect existing code to enhance performance and stability.
• Conduct code reviews and lead technical transformations.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and clinical teams.
• Document code using version control, markup formats, and text editors.
• Maintain traceability and regulatory documentation for medical software.
• Design high-level technical architecture in coordination with R&D.
• Mentor and guide engineers in development practices.

Qualifications

• BSc / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with C++ (C++17 / 14, STL) and experience in Python.
• Knowledge of algorithms, especially 3D geometry algorithms, is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of linear algebra, computational mathematics, and analytical geometry.
• Upper intermediate English proficiency for internal communication.
• Ability to write testable, object-oriented code.
• Curiosity, inventiveness, and a proactive attitude.
• Experience with version control systems like Git and Bamboo; Asciidoc is a plus.
• Knowledge of Kafka, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Interest in continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment, adhering to strict processes and quality standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with modern technologies and quick learner.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing environments.

Preferred Skills

• Basic SQL knowledge (queries).
• Experience with AWS Lambda, CI / CD pipelines.
