Our client is a global leader in hospitality management with over 50 years of experience supporting the cruise industry. Specializing in essential services and products that enhance the onboard experience, they collaborate with some of the most recognized names in the sector. Their comprehensive service portfolio includes Food & Beverage operations, galley management, logistics, crew management, consulting, and risk management.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Accounting Manager to lead the Finance team in Barcelona. This role will oversee financial operations for Spain, ensure accurate financial reporting, manage accounting functions, and contribute to the integration of newly acquired companies in Europe. Reporting to the Group CFO (based in the U.S.), the Accounting Manager will collaborate with senior leadership to drive financial performance, optimize operations, and maintain strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants, APs, ARs, and Payroll, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee and manage all accounting functions for the Spanish operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with European regulations, and strong internal controls.
  • Supervise general ledger reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and reporting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Drive the financial integration of newly acquired companies, aligning accounting processes with the company’s financial standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to enhance financial controls, streamline operations, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide financial forecasts, budgets, and projections in coordination with relevant departments, ensuring effective financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while safeguarding company assets.

Skills required for the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Background in the following industries : product distribution, hospitality or F&B.
  • Strong understanding of Spanish accounting regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience migrating accounting systems would be a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating across departments and with external partners.
