Job Title : Specialized Laboratory Technician

About the Role :

The successful candidate will work closely with the head of a sequencing team to develop, implement and run protocols for long-read sequencing.

Responsibilities :

• Preparation of samples for sequencing
• Implementing new protocols
• Maintaining rigorous audit trails of the work carried out, writing and updating documentation such as Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
• Recognizing and reporting erroneous protocol outcomes
• Stock and orders management

Required Skills and Qualifications :

To be considered for this position, applicants must have at least 3 years of work experience in molecular biological procedures, particularly PCR, cloning, DNA restriction enzymes digestion and HMW DNA / RNA extraction procedures.

• Excellent laboratory techniques and ability to work reliably, paying attention to detail and working as part of a team
• Capable of working with computers and common software packages
• Able to understand and speak English
