An international ingredients distributor is seeking a Sales Manager in Spain to oversee business growth in the food industry. Candidates should have significant sales experience, strong negotiation skills, and a background in food technology. This role involves both managing existing customer relations and exploring new market opportunities.

Formación

  • 5 years of sales experience in food ingredients or non-FMCG products.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Descripción del empleo

You and your team will sell food ingredients to the food industry.

  • Area: Spain
  • The position will be based in Madrid or Barcelona; 4 days per month home office is possible.
  • Our client is an international ingredients distributor.
  • You should have at least 5 years of sales experience in food ingredients or non-FMCG products.
  • Experience working for a distributor is required.
  • The job primarily involves expanding business with existing customers, as well as identifying and exploring new markets and customers in Spain's food sector.

Tasks

  • Developing and implementing a commercial policy.
  • Conducting business analysis by industry and territory to formulate a commercial strategy.
  • Monitoring targets by industry and territory.
  • Negotiating contracts with customers and suppliers.
  • Preparing and presenting the annual budget.
  • Leading product managers and the sales team.
  • Monitoring team performance.
  • Having knowledge of industrial food customers in Spain.
  • Having technical and commercial knowledge of cereals, grains, flours, flakes, etc., is an asset.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Managing the product portfolio and identifying opportunities for new products or solutions.
  • Conducting in-depth market and competitive analyses to understand customer needs and identify new opportunities.
  • Acting as a product manager for various product ranges and suppliers, managing relationships and procurement.
  • Negotiating with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Degree in food technology or a related field.
  • Knowledge in marketing and sales management.
  • Knowledge of IFS broker standards.
  • Ability to solve technological problems and a passion for food product development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • High willingness to travel.
  • Very organized, reliable, positive attitude.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
  • Valid driving license.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
