Technical Sales Manager Food Ingredients
Overview
Role: You will sell Food Ingredients to the Food Industry
- Area: Spain
- The position will be office-based in Madrid or Barcelona; 5 days per month home office is possible
- Our client is an international Ingredients distributor
- Minimum 5 years sales experience in Food Ingredients / Non-FMCG products
Responsibilities
The job holder primarily oversees the expansion of business with existing customers, as well as the identification and exploration of new markets and customers in the food market in Spain.
Tasks
- Knowledge of industrial food customers in Spain
- Technical and commercial knowledge of cereals in all their forms, grains, flours, flakes, etc., will be an asset
- Customer & supplier relationship management: establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers
- Portfolio management: identifying opportunities in the portfolio and supplementing missing product/solution offerings
- Market & Competition: conducting in-depth market analyses to understand supplier & customer needs, assess competitive landscapes, and identify new opportunities; acting as Product Manager for various product ranges and/or suppliers, taking responsibility for the relationship and purchases with them
- Negotiating with suppliers
Requirements
- Degree in Food Technology / Food Chemistry (must-have)
- Ability to solve technological problems and passion for food product development
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- High willingness to travel
- Very organized, reliable, positive thinking
- Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
- Valid driving license
