Job summary

Airbus CRISA in Tres Cantos (Madrid) seeks an Industrialization Test Area Engineer to lead the setup and improvement of industrial test means for space electronics. You will specify, acquire, deploy and support climatic/ vacuum test chambers, shakers, and related automation, including PLCs, HMIs, and LabVIEW-driven systems.

The role requires a degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in industrialization projects within test environments.

Qualifications

• Higher Education in Industrial, Electronic, or Aeronautic Engineering.
• At least 5 years leading Industrialization/Improvement Projects in Test Areas.
• Experience with Vacuum, Climatic, Thermal chambers and shakers maintenance.
• English proficiency; proactive, autonomous with strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define, specify, buy, deploy and support new Industrial Test means per requirements and ergonomics standards.
• Lead continuous improvement of existing Test means, increasing automation.
• Manage software (LabVIEW), automation, PLCs, HMIs, distributed systems, I/O controls and protocols (TCP/UDP/IP, MODBUS, EtherCAT).
• Program autonomous controls and remote controls for test equipment.
• Provide shop-floor support and troubleshooting; execute preventive and corrective maintenance.

Industrialization Test Area Engineer is a new opening at Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defence & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area).

In our industrialization department, our mission is to guarantee the technical/digital means needed to execute manufacturing and test processes for space electronic equipment with excellent performance.

Our activities are split into missions whose set-up are integrated in different space businesses: Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites).

Task and accountabilities

• Define, specify, buy, deploy and support for new Industrial Test means (Climatic/ vacuum test chambers and shakers) according to customers requirement and ergonomics standards.
• Lead continuous improvement of the existing Test means, implementing best practices according to Quality, Cost and Time, mainly increasing its automatization approach.
• Managing dedicated software (f.i. LabView), Managing automatisms, PLCs programming, HMIs, distributed systems, I/O controls and different communication protocols (TCP/UDP/IP, MOD-BUS, EtherCAT, etc.).
• Programming autonomous controls (programmed relays, thermal control modules,etc.).
• Programming remote controls.
• Support and troubleshooting in the shop floor.
• Define and execute Preventive and Corrective maintenance plan of Test equipment.
• Provide support to customer (projects) during Vibration, Vacuum and Thermal test campaigns, including technical assessment and contributing actively to find adequate solutions.

Required skills and experience

• Higher Education (Grade or Master) related to Industrial, Electronic, or Aeronautic Engineering.
• At least 5 years experienced leading Industrialization / Improvement Projects in Test Areas (Production and Test Sytems, Lean, MES..).
• Previous experience with Vacuum systems, Climatic, Thermal chambers and Shakers maintenance and control.
• Digital mindset (automation of tasks, scripting, use of digital design tools and simulators).
• Electronic manufacturing and Test processes knowledge will be valued positively.
• English Language proficiency.
• Proactive, well organized, autonomous and with clear Team Work value.
