Description

The Hotel Romazzino, in stunning Costa Smeralda, Sardegna, will reopen for the 2024 season as part of the Belmond portfolio.

For this iconic hotel, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Sommelier to join our team.

The ideal candidate is willing to provide authentic, experiences in a world-renowned destination to our guests, demonstrating care, confidence, curiosity, and community.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, he/she will have experience working in a luxury restaurant.

The position is based in Porto Cervo, Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, and the contract is permanent and full-time. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy/EU.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Anticipate guests' needs, providing an excellent and personalized guest experience according to our service standards;
• Develop special events about wine;
• Inventory and requisitions: assist in monitoring stock levels and ordering replacement deliveries. Avoid any waste and be capable of controlling beverage margins;
• Compliance with health and safety regulations;
• Maintain appropriate levels of beverage stocks by monitoring purchases and sales, ensuring professional, efficient, and accurate service of all types of beverages, with a focus on wines, to fully satisfy our guests during their meal experience.

Requirements

We are looking for a genuinely enthusiastic personality, professional with the highest standard of presentation, and ability to work as part of a team. This environment is fast-paced and suits a friendly and outgoing personality.

You Will Have

• Previous experience in similar and/or related fields in a 5* Hotel.
• At least 2 years experience at the same level.
• Fluent English and additional languages are desirable.
• Sommelier Association membership degree appreciated (AIS or WSET).
