Senior Manager, Social Sustainability and Reporting

Location: Madrid, ES, 28020

ContourGlobal is an established Independent Power Producer developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation assets worldwide. The company manages over 6.2 GW of installed capacity across various technologies in 18 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America. With a renewable capacity share of 27%, the company is committed to accelerating its decarbonization efforts through a sustainable transition of its thermal fleet, repowering existing renewable assets, and organically developing new renewable projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Align Social Sustainability objectives, targets, and programs with corporate goals through cross-functional collaboration.
2. Provide expertise on Social Sustainability issues, including risks during development, construction, operations, and maintenance of power plants.
3. Serve as a Social Sustainability subject matter expert, focusing on Community and External Stakeholder Engagement, Social Investment programs, Complaints and Grievance Mechanisms, Cultural Resources, DEI, Human Rights, and Sustainability disclosures, emphasizing Just Transition principles.
4. Assist in developing Social Sustainability training and capacity-building sessions across functions.
5. Develop and govern global Social Sustainability metrics and targets, including incident reporting guidance.
6. Monitor global impacts, trends, regulatory changes, and improvement areas related to Social Sustainability.
7. Manage assurance processes for key Social Sustainability metrics and disclosures.
8. Create transparent and accurate Sustainability disclosures for internal and external reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable frameworks such as CSRD, CSDDD, IFRS, SASB, GRI, TCFD, IFC PS, etc.
9. Support risk assessments for growth opportunities, including Business Development and M&A activities.
10. Refine and enhance Social Performance models and data collection, tracking, and reporting processes.
11. Assist in developing a 3-year Social Investment Road Map and tracking systems to ensure execution of commitments.
12. Support sustainable financing initiatives.
13. Manage relationships with stakeholders, including sustainability rating agencies, NGOs, and advocacy groups.
14. Represent ContourGlobal’s Social Sustainability interests in industry associations, NGOs, partners, and conferences.
15. Support operational transitions related to decarbonization strategies, including Shared Value creation, Just Transition, decommissioning, and conservation.
16. Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve Social Sustainability performance quality.
17. Contribute to strategic initiatives, including incentives and support for major projects and operational improvements.
18. Engage in RFP scoping, consultant management, and budget oversight.

Preferred Locations: Madrid office preferred; other options include Houston, Sofia, Vienna, and Milan.
