Envision Energy in Madrid seeks an experienced energy storage engineer to design and optimize utility-scale BESS solutions. You will work closely with sales to translate requirements into technical designs, evaluate RFPs, and guide tender responses.

The role requires 7+ years in storage/energy engineering, fluent technical English, and familiarity with grid integration and regulatory standards. Chinese language skills are a plus, and the position is based on site in Madrid.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering.
• Fluent technical English; Chinese language skills preferred.
• 7+ years in energy storage or related field, preferably with DNO/TSO exposure.
• Working knowledge of battery systems, PCS, EMS/SCADA, and grid connections.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for BESS systems.

Job Responsibility

1. Design, engineer, and optimize utility-scale energy storage systems and work with sales team closely to offer engineering solution to sales team and customers.

2. Analyse RFP documentation and assess project scope and risk.

3. Conduct technical design and presentations and provide clarifications to our sales team and customers.

4. Understand, interpret, and relay customer requirements into BESS technical solution designs.

5. Review and submit technical tender response bundles within deadlines.

6. Follow up and analyse previous technical tender submissions to understand outcome/result from technical point of view.

7. Understand and keep up with storage market technical and engineering requirements and trends.

9. Collaborate with customers and commercial teams to support them to negotiate and finalise contracts from technical perspective.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering

2. Fluency in technical English is a must; Chinese-speaking candidates are preferred.

3. 7+ years of experience in relevant field, preferably incl. experience working for a DNO or TSO

4. Working knowledge of battery systems, power conversion systems, PPC/EMS/SCADA and grid connection processes for jurisdictions under your management

5. Familiarity with grid operator processes

6. Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and standards for BESS systems

7. Ability to size the Power Converter System (PCS) and battery system

8. Familiarity with design concepts related to short circuit protection, conductor sizing, thermal systems, safety systems, etc.
