Job summary

Canadian Solar is seeking a proactive Commissioning & Field Services Technician for our C&I Storage and PV Turnkey Solutions division. You will coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, PR tests, grid connection, and handover to the owner, interacting with internal teams up to executive leadership.

Reporting to the Head of Technical Team, you will develop standardized commissioning processes, manage contractors, ensure safety procedures, and support warranties through project turnover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 2-3 years of progressively responsible technical, engineering, O&M management, or heavy industry procurement experience is expected.
• Solar EPC experience is strongly preferred.
• Proven skills in Commissioning and O&M processes are a must.
• High proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PPT), MS Project, CRM systems, and PowerBI.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and manage efficient commissioning processes for solar projects with standardized templates.
• Ensure safe testing of mechanically completed installations to meet ramp-up and performance requirements.
• Coordinate and manage commissioning work performed by contractors and/or vendors at project sites.
• Manage quality control and oversight to connect to the grid and commence commercial operation.
• Interface with DNO/TNO and comply with requirements.
• Serve as main contact during project transition from construction to operation and ensure handover documentation and warranties are in place.
• Maintain pre-operations services to keep plants performing and preserve warranties till PAC release.
• Arrange delivery, inspection, and storage of spare parts; ensure proper storage and replacement of used parts.
• Collaborate with Global Procurement on contracting strategies, RFPs, and vendor negotiations.
• Assist with contract award process and present award recommendations to EPC Director.
• Participate in engineering, design, and construction review.
