LUZA Group is seeking a Software Support Engineer in Valladolid to design and implement OBD-based powertrain diagnostics and ensure regulatory compliance. You will serve as the bridge between ICE controls and TSRC, translating complex requirements into precise software specifications and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automotive, hands-on OBD experience, and strong English communication. Knowledge of AUTOSAR and hybrid powertrains is a plus.

Formación

• Degree or diploma in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in the automotive industry.
• Experience with OBD and SCANTOOL protocols and tools.
• Knowledge of ECU calibration and validation.
• Knowledge of hybrid powertrains and their components.
• Strong ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Good command of English for technical communication.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and deliver technical presentations related to diagnostic systems to the TSRC department, fostering collaboration with engineering teams.
• Develop OBD checklists for new or modified hardware and define robust DTC strategies in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and software teams to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve diagnostic system issues.

Overview / Summary

We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to work in an international relevant partner in the automotive sector.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Lead the design and development of technical requirements for current and future electrical/electronic On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) systems for powertrain applications, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
• Act as the primary interface between Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) controls teams and the Technical Safety Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) department, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications for software and algorithm development.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations related to diagnostic systems to the TSRC department, fostering close collaboration with engineering teams.
• Develop OBD checklists for new or modified hardware and define robust Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) strategies in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and software teams to analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex diagnostic system issues.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience with OBD and SCANTOOL protocols and tools.
• Knowledge of ECU calibration and validation.
• Basic knowledge of hybrid powertrains and their critical components, including engine ECU, power electronics, DC/DC converter, high-voltage (HV) battery and On-Board Charger (OBC).
• Strong ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Good command of English, with the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.

Complementary Requirements

• French is also an advantage;
• Knowledge of ASPICE and AUTOSAR is considered a plus.
• A valid driving licence is considered a plus.
