Role Overview:

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer III will serve as a Quality representative in the Neuromodulation Software/Firmware product development. Responsibilities include providing Quality Engineering input throughout the product lifecycle, participating in design activities for new and existing products, and testing and validation of Software/Firmware products.

Division Focus:

Our Neuromodulation division advances electronic implantable technologies to help patients manage chronic pain and neurological conditions.

Work Model:

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring presence in our Valencia, CA office at least three days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Software Quality Assurance Engineers.
  • Contribute to Software/Firmware QA activities in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Ensure software quality, validate requirements, and ensure security and compliance.
  • Support design, development, testing, and validation of software related to Neuromodulation products.
  • Create and execute Design Validation Plans, protocols, and reports.
  • Review design, development, and testing documentation.
  • Support Automated Test Equipment validation and Software CAPA activities.
  • Participate in Design Validation activities, including reviews, testing, cybersecurity, usability, and risk management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering or testing.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, C++, Swift, JavaScript, Python, etc.
  • Manual system-level testing experience.
  • Understanding of IEC 62304 software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related fields.
  • Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and passion for quality.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of Neuromodulation principles, CAPA, risk management (ISO 14971), cybersecurity, Bluetooth, mobile app development, and compliance standards.
  • Certifications like CQE or CSQE are a plus.
