Full Stack Engineer : Data Engineering – Job Description

Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is seeking an exceptional engineer in our Data & Analytics Engineering organization. The Full Stack Engineer is responsible for delivering business needs from requirements gathering to deploying software into production. The role requires proficiency in critical technologies, a hunger to learn, and a drive to add value to the business. Key attributes include ownership, eagerness to learn, and an open mindset. The engineer should prioritize automation and continuous improvement, promoting the adoption of CI / CD tools and enhancing related processes.

Job Description & Responsibilities

Behaviors of a Full Stack Engineer : Ability to articulate clear business objectives aligned with technical specifications, working iteratively in an agile environment. Ownership of tasks and effective communication across all team levels, with a proactive approach to challenges. Strive to be cutting-edge engineers rather than traditional developers.

Experience Required :

• 11-13 years in Python development.
• 11-13 years in Data Management & SQL expertise.
• 5+ years experience with Spark and AWS.
• 5+ years experience with Databricks.
• Experience working in agile CI / CD environments.

Experience Desired :

• Experience with Git, Teradata, and Snowflake.
• Experience deploying analytical models via data & analytical pipelines.
• Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, HiveQL, Scala / Python, and cloud services like S3, Glue, Terraform, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift, EMR.
• Knowledge of BDD and TDD development methodologies.
• Experience in healthcare information domains is preferred.

Education and Training Required :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Primary Skills :

• Python, AWS, Spark.

• Data management and SQL.
