Siemens Mobility in Madrid is seeking a software professional to design and implement traction control systems for next‑generation rolling stock, shaping performance, power, and safety on real rail networks.

You will architect robust software, develop in graphical environments, simulate vehicle behavior, and oversee testing from unit to system level, collaborating across engineering teams.

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience with structured software development for traction or embedded control systems.
• Strong understanding of traction systems components (converters, inverters, motors).
• Fluent English (C1) to collaborate globally, willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsabilidades

• Architect robust software architectures for traction control and document them.
• Develop control software using graphical development environments for target hardware.
• Build and run vehicle simulations to create realistic test environments.
• Manage full testing lifecycle from component to functional validation with safety standards.
• Collaborate on system interfaces and translate concepts into high‑performance implementations.
• Define and manage requirements for drive control software with clarity and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Architect the Core: Design and document robust, scalable software architectures for traction control using advanced modeling tools.
• Drive the Development: Program sophisticated control software utilizing graphical development environments, ensuring seamless integration onto target hardware platforms.
• Simulate & Innovate: Build realistic, complex vehicle simulations to create robust, state‑of‑the‑art test environments.
• Ensure Flawless Execution: Manage the complete testing lifecycle—from rigorous component testing to full functional validation—ensuring compliance with stringent industry safety standards.
• Bridge the Gap: Actively collaborate on system interfaces, translating high‑level architectural concepts into practical, high‑performance implementations.
• Define the Blueprint: Author and manage comprehensive requirements for drive control software, ensuring clarity, precision, and traceability.

What Will Make You Shine in This Role

• Your Education: A strong technical background with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Your Expertise: Proven professional experience in structured software development, specifically focused on traction control systems or highly complex embedded control systems.
• Your Domain Knowledge: A solid, practical understanding of traction systems, including traction converters, inverters, and electrical motors.
• Your Communication: Fluency in English (C1 level) to collaborate effectively within our global engineering network.

Bonus Points

• Deep, hands‑on experience with the EN 50657 standard (Software on board rolling stock).
• Prior experience and understanding of the broader rolling stock business and vehicle dynamics.
