Join a forward-thinking company as a key contributor to the development of an innovative simulation tool. This role focuses on enhancing the user interface and back-end of Spark3D, which is designed for analyzing RF breakdown in passive devices. You will leverage your expertise in numerical methods for electromagnetic simulations to ensure the software meets high-performance standards. If you have a Master's degree in Physics or Engineering and a passion for cutting-edge technology, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the field.
SIMULIA Spark3D is a simulation tool designed to determine the Radiofrequency (RF) breakdown power level in various passive devices, such as cavities, waveguides, microstrips, and antennas. It imports electromagnetic field monitors from CST Microwave Studio to analyze vacuum breakdown (multipactor) and gas discharge phenomena. Spark3D calculates the maximum power the device can handle without causing discharge effects.
The software performs full numerical simulations of the multipactor effect by considering the 3D electromagnetic (EM) field distribution. It emits electrons within the component, tracks their trajectories, and monitors the evolution of the electron count over time. Additionally, Spark3D simulates gas discharge by solving the free electron continuity equation in the component, checking if the electron density increases with time at a given input power level. This allows users to calculate breakdown voltage and power levels for their devices.
The position involves collaborating in the maintenance and enhancement of Spark3D's user interface and back-end development.
Master's degree in Physics or Electrical / Telecommunication Engineering.
