A leading company is seeking an associate software engineer to join their Telco engineering group. The role involves deploying and managing OpenShift, collaborating with global engineers, and optimizing systems in an agile environment. Ideal candidates will have solid Linux experience, proficiency in Python and Golang, and a collaborative attitude. Formación

  • 3+ years solid Linux experience and Ansible.
  • 3+ years software development experience with Python, Golang, Shell scripting.
  • 2+ years experience with Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD.

Descripción del empleo

The Red Hat engineering team is looking for an associate software engineer to join our Telco engineering group. In this role, you will help develop and implement cutting-edge new technologies and features, deploy and manage OpenShift in various topologies on the edge, manage releasing of several OpenShift Operators, optimize our systems, and ensure a seamless operator release process. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with brilliant engineers from all over the world and collaborate with Red Hat's QE release documentation teams and communities in an open source and agile development environment.

What will you do
  1. Deploy and manage OpenShift on bare-metal servers in various topologies on the edge, update CI lanes, and troubleshoot.
  2. Manage releasing of several OpenShift Operators to enable telco engineering to meet low latency and low power requirements.
  3. Propose and review design enhancement proposals for CI lanes.
  4. Plan and prioritize your work to complete tasks timely within the OpenShift release cycle.
  5. Collaborate with the quality engineering team to ensure their requirements are met for deploying and testing OCP deployment and configuration changes.
  6. Work with upstream communities and contribute your code upstream.
What will you bring
  1. At least 3 years of solid Linux experience, including understanding of Linux components (kernel, bootloader, memory, network, storage, graphics, etc.) and Ansible.
  2. At least 3 years of professional experience in software development, with familiarity in Python, Golang, and Shell scripting.
  3. At least 2 years of experience with Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, and ProwJobs.
  4. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  5. Self-motivated, responsible, and collaborative attitude.
  6. Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
Additional pluses
  1. Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware, HyperV, OpenStack) or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  2. Experience with OpenShift deployment, Kubernetes administration, or relevant certifications.
  3. Experience with open source development and Git.
