Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will work within a development team to help build new software and enhancements to existing QAD software products. As a development team member, you will analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and debug software applications. You will work with team members to ensure quality through agile software development practices and continuous improvement. You will participate in the creation and execution of automated unit tests, functional tests, integration tests, and install tests. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the sound development and implementation of QAD’s software solutions.

This role is fully remote from Spain.

What You’ll Do:

1. Analyze, develop, enhance, and maintain QAD software applications and tools.
2. Create test plans, design specifications, development, and unit testing of source code, schema design, prototyping, and documentation.
3. Perform analysis to define requirements for new features or modifications including affected programs, expected behavior, related document changes, and test scenarios.
4. Provide input to technical training documents.
5. Provide service and support to early adopter customers, support other QAD teams, and troubleshoot and solve escalated customer issues.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
2. 3 to 5 years of experience working in a software development environment as a software developer or QA Engineer.
3. Development skills in Java, C#, C++, and object-oriented programming.
4. Experience with SQL or other relational database software.
5. Basic knowledge of Linux / Unix, RDBMS is mandatory.
6. Functional and general concepts of Supply Chain and / or ERP is good to have.
7. Basic understanding of client-server and API architecture.
8. Basic understanding of XML.
9. Experience working on an Agile / SCRUM team.
10. Progress software experience is a plus.
11. Working knowledge of any one Development IDE - Visual Studio, OpenEdge Architect, Spring Tool, Eclipse.
12. Basic knowledge of any one software source control system like Git, CVS, SVN, VSTS.
13. Preferred basic knowledge of any one build tool like Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Bamboo.
