About The Role

Software Engineer

The Software Engineer of this team will be developing innovative platform services for the transportation domain at Trimble. These services will seamlessly integrate with Trimble Cloud core platform services and offer transportation platform APIs for a range of transportation products and applications. As we establish new teams and develop new platform services, our forward-thinking approach aims to build a robust foundation for Trimble's transportation products. We offer a dynamic environment that encourages exploration and innovation with next-gen technologies to address the evolving needs of the industry.

This role will be part of one of the platform services taking full ownership of the service development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, coding, and deployment of services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Learn and independently contribute to the development of services.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, adhering to best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Own the deployment of services.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Participate in team meetings, code walkthroughs, and development practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Eager to learn and contribute to the development of services using the latest technologies.
• Be an excellent team player

Desired Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience developing backend services APIs, RESTful web services
• Experience in GenAI, AI / ML
• Experience in developing Python and Java based backend services
• Experience in writing clean code ensuring quality with code coverage
• Good analytical knowledge and decision making skills.
• Basic devops knowledge with any cloud.
• Innovative mind-set and eager to learn and contribute using next gen technologies
• Professional skills in communicating in English working with International teams.
• Languages : Java, Python
• Frameworks : Spring, Spring Boot, Gradle
• Database : MongoDB
• Cloud : Azure or any cloud experience
• Message Broker : Kafka or any message broker and any event-driven architecture experience
• Nice to have : Full stack / UI experience.

Location :

This role is fully remote from the UK and Europe.
