Position: Software Development Engineer in Testing
We are seeking candidates with experience in Java who will work closely with our main banking sector client.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced backend test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing of Java applications.
- Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans, ensuring full feature coverage.
- Quality Advocacy: Promote best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and deployment within the engineering team.
- Collaboration: Work with mobile developers to influence design for testability and ensure high code quality standards.
- Performance and Scalability Testing: Design and execute tests to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance.
- Mentorship: Guide junior SDETs and quality engineers in automation and QA skills.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance testing processes, tools, and frameworks, keeping up with industry trends.
- Defect Management: Oversee defect tracking and resolution in collaboration with development teams.
- Innovation: Provide technical leadership and external market insights.
Candidate Requirements
- 6+ years in software development and test automation, focusing on backend frameworks.
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Experience with backend automation tools like Cucumber or similar.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Proven leadership and mentorship skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Deep understanding of SDLC and design patterns.
- Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS preferred).
- Agile methodologies experience (Scrum, SAFe).
- Knowledge of accessibility testing (W3C standards).
- Proficiency in English (C1 level).
Nice to Have: Experience in regulated environments like banking/fintech, relevant degrees, certifications (AWS, security testing).
Work Details
Location: 100% remote within Spain.
Schedule: Business hours, no intensive Fridays or summer schedules.
