Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Testing with experience in Java, working closely with a key client in the banking sector.
Main Responsibilities
- Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced backend test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing.
- Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans.
- Quality Advocacy: Promote best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and deployment within the team.
- Collaboration: Work with mobile developers to influence design for testability.
- Performance Testing: Design and execute performance, load, and scalability tests.
- Mentorship: Guide junior SDETs and QA engineers.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance testing processes, tools, and frameworks.
- Defect Management: Oversee defect identification, documentation, and resolution.
- Innovation: Provide technical leadership and market insights.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in software development and test automation.
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Experience with backend automation tools like Cucumber.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Leadership experience in testing efforts.
- Problem-solving skills and troubleshooting in fast-paced environments.
- Deep understanding of SDLC and design patterns.
- Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS preferred).
- Agile methodologies experience.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing (W3C).
- Good English skills (C1 level).
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated environments like banking or fintech.
- Degree in Computer Science.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS).
- Security testing knowledge.
Work Location & Schedule
100% remote within Spain. Business hours, no intensive Fridays or summer hours.
