Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer in Testing with experience in Java, working closely with a key client in the banking sector.

Main Responsibilities

1. Test Automation Leadership: Design, develop, and maintain advanced backend test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing.
2. Strategic Test Planning: Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies and plans.
3. Quality Advocacy: Promote best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and deployment within the team.
4. Collaboration: Work with mobile developers to influence design for testability.
5. Performance Testing: Design and execute performance, load, and scalability tests.
6. Mentorship: Guide junior SDETs and QA engineers.
7. Continuous Improvement: Enhance testing processes, tools, and frameworks.
8. Defect Management: Oversee defect identification, documentation, and resolution.
9. Innovation: Provide technical leadership and market insights.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software development and test automation.
• Strong Java programming skills.
• Experience with backend automation tools like Cucumber.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Leadership experience in testing efforts.
• Problem-solving skills and troubleshooting in fast-paced environments.
• Deep understanding of SDLC and design patterns.
• Experience with Cloud Computing (AWS preferred).
• Agile methodologies experience.
• Knowledge of accessibility testing (W3C).
• Good English skills (C1 level).

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated environments like banking or fintech.
• Degree in Computer Science.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS).
• Security testing knowledge.

Work Location & Schedule

100% remote within Spain. Business hours, no intensive Fridays or summer hours.
