Santander Auto Software is a greenfield programme, where we are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, to be rolled out in 13 countries across Europe and the UK.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong background in designing and building test frameworks, solutions, and tooling from scratch for engineering teams.

This role involves working across various technologies and liaising with all business areas to enable automated testing of SAS applications. You will create and improve automation frameworks and tooling with custom code to facilitate testing, resulting in more reliable applications.

In this role, you will:
  • Identify gaps in current testing tooling and frameworks, suggesting enhancements to improve quality outcomes.
  • Design and develop test frameworks, solutions, and tooling for SAS engineering teams to automate testing processes.
  • Support SAS engineering teams in using internal test frameworks and testing strategies across diverse scenarios.
  • Debug solutions, tooling, and scripts, identifying flaws and implementing improvements.
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying solutions.
  • Support the SAS platform's end-to-end smoke tests.
  • Quickly determine root causes of test failures with an analytical approach.
  • Build non-functional testing frameworks such as performance, load, and security testing.
  • Identify potential software improvements and communicate findings to engineering teams to enhance user experience.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Experience designing and developing test automation frameworks and tooling for engineering teams.
  • Preferably, experience implementing test strategies in a cloud-based microservices environment.
  • Deep knowledge of testing methodologies and practical experience applying them.
  • Experience working within agile organizations and teams.
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Team-oriented, passionate, with excellent listening and communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
Locations
  • SAS has adopted a remote working model, with the workplace being your home residence according to your contract. We can hire in Spain, Portugal, or the Netherlands.
