Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our Global RME (Reliability and Maintenance Engineering) Central Team within the Reliability and Automation Engineering department. This role offers the opportunity to develop and maintain mission-critical systems and software solutions that support our global fulfillment network.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain systems used for equipment monitoring, control, predictive maintenance, or operational excellence.
  • Build secure, scalable, and user-friendly applications for maintenance teams and reliability engineers worldwide.
  • Architect cloud-native solutions adhering to security and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with field teams, engineers, and leadership to understand operational needs and develop solutions.
  • Drive automation and reliability improvements to enhance system resilience and reduce operational burdens.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in professional software development (non-internship).
  • Experience designing or architecting systems (patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and object-oriented languages (Java, C#, C++).
  • Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL, and infrastructure as code (AWS CDK).
  • Proven ability to take projects from conception to launch.
